Real Madrid will preserve their pursuit of every other trophy on Thursday when they go to Atletico Madrid for a Spanish Copa del Rey Round of 16 match of the Euros in the summer.

Ettie is from the side that lost 5-3 after extra time against Real Madrid last week. Stefan Savage, who’s been linked to the move away, is replaced by Axel Occholo Has been at the helm for every single week. In the Copa del Rey round of 16, final checks from Guillermo Cuadro Fernandez.  We are under. There’s Bellingham. That’s the fault. Yeah, usually you can put Axel Witzel in the middle of a 3. And…

Comfortable for all that. Come on, Bellingham’s run. Bellingham has started that with a pass to Rodrigo. Attack him. Bingo. Nicely done by Bellingham. Brilliant. Off the bar. The follow-up.

As close as they’ve come. You said it. Brilliant from Bellingham. Lovely little ball played by Modric.

Really, when he picks the ball up here, one thing he’s got to do is be better with his final pass. Camo Bingo. Carvajal was tested for his innocence by Saul. Attack him with Camo Bingo.

They caught him by the referee; the home fans didn’t think so. In behind. Good save. Not once, but twice. Living dangerously at Letty. And again.

The referee is not interested; that will be checked. They got away with that for the better. At Letty, the movement’s got to be better. He’s got to play it a bit quicker.  The deflection. Nearly going into the pass of Jude Bellingham. He was offside. Bellingham. Vinnie Junio. Oh, a kick. Not sure.

What a game it turned out to be. Athletic 4, Real Madrid 2, then, after extra time,. And we told you, throughout the day, if you’re watching our coverage, that this was going to go to Extra Time because it had done so on the previous seven occasions.

It is now up to eight, and in single elimination times, we see extra time when these two teams meet. We welcome to the show Frank LaBeouf joins us here, Frank, in a moment. That was great, wasn’t it? That’s what you want from a cup, Tom.

No, I’m not a mathematician. But that’s 14 goals, I believe, in the last two games between these two sides. I am absolutely loving this version of Athletic 4 Madrid. From the depths of despair of not wanting to watch them play early in the season to this version that we’ve been sort of calling out for, more expansive, more attacking,

Utilizing these quality players that they do have—these players that can influence games, cut teams open, and score goals—it’s not just about defending. And yeah, it’s leaving them more susceptible at the other end to counter the attacks, and it’s putting Jan Oblak under more pressure.

But by God, particularly at home, it’s really, really good to watch.  And yeah, Real Madrid had more possession, but it’s hard to argue that, in the end, Athletic 4 Madrid didn’t deserve to win this game. Real Madrid fans will disagree, but this was a lot of fun, wasn’t it?

It absolutely was I thought, again, you knew coming into these two very good footballing teams, the only question would be which version of Athletic 4 Madrid would show up? I’m happy to say, as Craig just alluded to, that this is a more attack-minded one that’s not just pragmatic and physical, but one that utilizes the full talents available to it. And then, at Real Madrid, we know who they are.

That didn’t change, and it turned out to be a wonderful football game between two really good teams. And now the winner, Athletic 4 Madrid, of course, will be the favorites to go on and win the title. And while you cannot take anything away from Athletic 4 Madrid and their post-game celebrations, there’s still a long way to go yet, but this is a huge scalper, especially given everything that’s kind of happened in the buildup to this game.

This crowd gets behind this team, even in the most turgid performances. Yes. And somehow, you sit, you wonder, and you go. How can 60 odd thousand be so excited about watching what they’ve been watching?

Can you imagine when they see performances like this, where it’s end to end, what the atmosphere must be like? There were whistles in extra time when Real Madrid had possession; you could just hear them.

Can you reverberate around the state?

There’s no doubt they have harnessed this atmosphere, this back to the wall; everybody hates us, and some do. There’s just this mentality that I suppose in some way comes from the coach all the way through to the playing staff, and it’s far from perfection, but boy, this is a big, big scalp for them, particularly coming off the back of the five goals.
